Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of Economy, Wale Edun, is leading Nigeria’s delegation to the 2025 International Monetary Fund (IMF) Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C., from April 21 to 26.

The Nigerian delegation includes senior officials from the Central Bank of Nigeria, financial institutions, private sector representatives, civil society organizations, and non-governmental organizations. Key objectives include advancing policies for economic stability, improving financial regulations, and enhancing trade resilience.
Discussions at the meetings will cover global economic turbulence, trade disruptions, and strategies for inclusive growth, with a focus on the impact of US import tariffs and reforming the global financial architecture to support developing countries.
The conference will also explore the economic impact of climate change and integrating environmental sustainability into financial planning.
