Nigerian socialite Obi Cubana has declared his biological son Alex as his “next of kin” on Instagram, following a claim by his adopted son Chidi on TikTok.
Gatekeepers News reports that Chidi captioned his TikTok video, “Nothing do my shoulder, I just realize say I be next of kin.”
Chidi’s video sparked controversy, prompting Obi Cubana to share a photo with Alex, captioning it:
“Ancient and modern, eyes on the ball. @dtwalx aka next of kin.”
Taking to the comments section, Alex wrote, “Using my headphones right now,” to which Obi Cubana replied, “Correct boy, original next-of-kin.”
The move has stirred debate, with many criticising Obi Cubana for airing the issue publicly instead of resolving it internally. Some users on X (formerly Twitter) expressed their opinions:
