Oluwole Oke, chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs, has resigned his membership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Gatekeepers News reports that he announced his resignation in a letter addressed to PDP chairman in Ward 7, Obokun LGA. He, however, hasn’t yet declared his next political affiliation
The six-term legislator who represents Obokun/Oriade federal constituency in Osun state said his decision was reached after due consultation with his political allies, family, and close associates.
The letter reads, “I wish to formally notify you that I am resigning my Membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect.”
“This was concluded after consultation and engagement with my political associates, family and friends.”
“It is my wish that you accept my resignation in good faith.”
The legislator also forwarded copies of his resignation letter to PDP leadership at the local, state, and national levels.
Oke also copied the national, state, and chairmen of the PDP in the letter.
