Gunmen have kidnapped twenty passengers travelling by boat along Akwa Ibom-Cross River waterways.
Gatekeepers News reports that the incident occurred on April 18 when the boat was transporting passengers from Oron in Akwa Ibom to a destination in Cross River.
According to Timfon John, Akwa Ibom police command spokesperson; the incident happened at the Calabar waterways.
John noted that the command is collaborating to ensure the release of the victims.
However, Cross River Police PRO, Irene Ugbo, said the command had not received any official report but promised to follow up with relevant authorities.
