Emeka Okonkwo, better known as E-Money, has been released on Tuesday night after several hours of questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Gatekeepers News reports that he was arrested on Monday night at his residence in the Omole area of Lagos, after which he was taken to the EFCC’s office in Abuja for interrogation.
The investigation revolves around allegations of naira abuse and the defacement of foreign currencies, specifically involving the practice of spraying US dollars, which violates the Foreign Exchange Act.
Following his release, E-Money posted a video on his Instagram. In the caption, he expressed appreciation for the support he received during this time, stating, “No tension, everywhere good. I see all your love and support. God bless you all.”
The video featured a gospel song in the background, with lyrics that conveyed gratitude, saying, “Thank you for saving me, thank you, my Lord.”
