Property estimated to be worth millions of naira was damaged on Wednesday in a fire outbreak at Samlove Hotel in Okitipupa town, Ondo state.
Gatekeepers News reports that Olayinka Ayanlade, police spokesperson in Ondo, confirmed the incident, noting that no lives were lost in the fire outbreak, which lasted several hours.
Ayanlade added that the police have commenced an investigation into the cause of the fire.
A female worker at the hotel, who spoke anonymously, revealed that the fire was triggered by electrical faults around 9 pm.
She noted that the fire spread to the bar part of the facility but did not affect the main building of the hotel.
The worker added, “We thank God that no life was lost in the fire incident, as guests in the hotel helped to prevent the fire from spreading.”
