Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has directed Air Peace to address its incessant
flight delays and cancellations.
Gatekeepers News reports that NCAA in a statement on Friday, revealed that Chris Najomo, its director-general, issued the directive during a heated meeting with the airline’s management in Abuja.
Najomo reportedly asked Air Peace to improve its domestic operations following persistent complaints of chronic flight delays and cancellations by passengers.
The statement reads, “The DGCA, Capt. Chris Najomo has directed Air Peace to immediately improve its domestic operations owing to complaints of chronic flight delays and cancellations by the travelling public.”
“Capt. Najomo strongly advised the airline to trim its operations to the size of available aircraft presently in its fleet to mitigate the crisis.”
“The DGCA asserted that, while the NCAA will continue to support the airlines, the operators must comply with the regulations and global best practices.”
“ Capt. Najomo warned that the NCAA is increasing its monitoring of flight operations across all airlines to ensure compliance.”
Air Peace acknowledged that the airline is grappling with operational challenges, adding that it is not unusual in the aviation industry.
The airline assured the director-general that efforts are ongoing to resolve the issues.
