3 Rescued As One-Storey Building Collapses In Lagos

A storey building under construction collapsed on Sunday at Ishaga Road, opposite Idi Araba Central Mosque, Mushin, Lagos.

Gatekeepers News reports that Margaret Adeseye, director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services, confirmed the incident in a statement.

She said the agency received a distress call around 4:30 p.m., prompting an emergency response from Isolo Fire Station, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Corps, Lagos State Ambulance Service, and the Nigeria Police.

Three adult males were pulled from the rubble alive, sustaining varying degrees of injuries. They were attended to at the scene before being transferred to the hospital for further treatment.

Adeseye added that investigations into the cause of the collapse are underway, and search and rescue efforts are ongoing.
