NOA Collaborates With Wema Bank On National Identity Project

National Orientation Agency (NOA) has initiated a partnership with Wema Bank to promote the national identity project, which is designed to instil values and promote attitudinal change among Nigerian youths.

Gatekeepers News reports that NOA in a statement on Wednesday, said the partnership followed a strategy meeting between Lanre Issa-Onilu, NOA director-general (DG), and representatives of the bank.

The agency said the initiative aligns with its renewed commitment to structured value reorientation, guided by the ‘7-for-7 National Values Charter’.

During the meeting, Issa-Onilu highlighted the significance of engaging the youth, pointing out that young people make up 76 percent of Nigeria’s population.

He emphasised the critical role of corporate organizations in supporting peace-building efforts, noting that sustainable business operations depend on a stable and peaceful environment.

The DG said, “Previous orientation efforts largely focused on citizens without holding the government to its own responsibilities.”

“The 7-for-7 Charter corrects that imbalance, providing a social contract that speaks to both sides.”

Representing Wema Bank, Chioma Onuaguluchi and Timileyin Adebanjo reiterated the institution’s dedication to youth empowerment and civic development.

They affirmed that Wema Bank, under the leadership of CEO Moruf Oseni, is committed to strengthening national identity through purposeful partnerships.

Onuaguluchi said, “We see ourselves not just as a financial institution, but as an enabler of societal progress.”

“This partnership with NOA aligns perfectly with our values and vision for the future.”

NOA said the collaboration between both parties aims to foster peace, civic responsibility, and economic inclusion, paving the way for public-private synergy in national development.
