The Caretaker State Working Committee of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State has accepted the appeal Court ruling.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Appeal court upheld the judgment of the Edo state governorship petitions tribunal on Thursday, 30 May 2025, which affirmed Monday Okpebholo’s election as Governor.

The committee pledged to abide by ruling of the Appeal Court on the 2024 Governorship Election Petition in a statement by Nosa Ogieva, its Chairman.

The party expressed its commitment to constitutional principles and called on members and supporters across the state to remain calm and law-abiding.

It said, “We have all received the news of the Appeal Court ruling in the 2024 Governorship Election Petition, which upheld the initial Election Petition Tribunal position. We have also resolved to abide by this ruling and to remain united.”

“We hereby appeal to all our members and supporters across the State, to remain calm as we pledge to uphold the Constitution of the land, regardless of this outcome of the Appeal Court process.”

“In the coming days, we shall obtain the certified copies of the ruling through our Lawyers, and subsequently review same along with the professional opinion of our Lawyers.”

The Caretaker Committee further cautioned members against heeding any statements aimed at inciting unrest or encouraging disregard for the rule of law.

It said, “ Finally, we encourage you to resist and ignore any statements capable of inciting our supporters to any protests or disregard for the rule of law. “

The Committee assured that further decisions and actions would be communicated in due course.
