Saudi Arabia To Translate 2025 Arafah Sermon Into 34 Languages Including Hausa – Yoruba – Fulani

Authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have announced that the 2025 Arafah sermon will be broadcast live in 34 languages.

Gatekeepers News reports that according to a post shared on Saturday by Haramain, a Saudi-based Islamic news platform, the sermon known as the Hajj Khutbah for the year 1446 AH will be delivered on Thursday, 9 Dhul Hijjah 1446.

Hausa, Fulani, and Yoruba were listed among the languages this year Arafah Sermon will be translated in.

The post reads, “The Hajj Khutbah 1446 will be translated into 34 languages on Thursday, 9 Dhul Hijjah 1446.”

“The languages include Arabic, Urdu, English, French, Indonesian, Persian (Farsi), Hausa, Chinese (Mandarin), Russian, Bengali, Turkish, Malay (Bahasa Melayu), Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, German, Filipino (Tagalog), Amharic (Ethiopia), Bosnian, Hindi, Dutch, Thai, Malayalam, Swahili, Pashto, Tamil, Azerbaijani, Swedish, Uzbek, Albanian, Fulani (Fula), Somali, Rohingya, and Yoruba.”

Abdulkabir Muhammad, executive secretary of the Edo Muslim Pilgrims welfare board, has commended the initiative.

He noted that it would enhance spiritual engagement and strengthen pilgrims’ connection to the message of Islam.

Recall that Sultan of Sokoto l, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar Ill, on Tuesday evening, 27 May, declared Wednesday, May 28, 2025, as the first day of Dhul Hijjah
1446 АН.

The Emir’s announcement came a few hours after authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced sightings of the Dhul Hijah crescent.

Eid-ul-Adha which falls on the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah will be observed on Friday, June 6, 2025.
