My Loyalty Is To God First Then Tinubu – David Umahi

Minister of Works, David Umahi, has publicly expressed that his primary loyalty, after his faith in God, is to President Bola Tinubu.

Gatekeepers Newreports that on Monday while speaking with journalists in Abakaliki, Umahi emphasised that he takes directives solely from these two figures.

His remarks came in response to President Tinubu’s recent praise for his accomplishments in infrastructure development.

Umahi described the acknowledgement as immensely valuable, equating it to more than one trillion dollars in significance. He noted that such recognition reinforces his belief that he is pursuing the right path and that his prayers have been answered.

“I have told the President even publicly that my loyalty is to God first and then, him.

“When someone places the kind of trust in you that Tinubu has placed in me, it would be completely wrong and even devilish to betray that trust,” he said.

He further stated that anyone who betrays Tinubu after receiving such trust and support will provoke God’s anger.

“Have you seen where a man presided over the procurement of a project worth N1.6 trillion and his boss did not call him to ask how he went about it?

“I am talking about one section of the project depending on the length.

“I pray every day that if I ever put myself, my family, or friends above God, Tinubu, and the Nigerian people, may God not answer my prayers,” the minister added.

Umahi pledged to keep praying for Tinubu and for everyone who supports him and values his efforts.

He said, “I also extend this recognition to all who have prayed for my success in serving the people.

“This means that contractors will be under pressure to complete around 30 major projects, which the President is set to inaugurate by December 20.

“I am actively engaged in the construction and inspection of projects spread across the six geo-political zones of the country.”
