President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will deliver a national broadcast at 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025, to commemorate Nigeria’s 26th Democracy Day.
Gatekeepers News reports that Tinubu’s will be followed by a joint session of the National Assembly at 12:00 noon, where he will address lawmakers and highlight the country’s progress and challenges.
There will be no Democracy Day parade, according to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Democracy Day.
The statement signed by Abdulhakeem Adeoye, on behalf of the committee’s Director, Information & Public Relations, added that there will be a public lecture on Democracy Day celebration at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja at 4 pm.
The theme of the lecture is “Consolidating on the Gains of Nigeria’s Democracy: Necessity of Enduring Reforms”.
