Digital Transformation Officer

Job Description:
- We are seeking an experienced and strategic Digital Transformation Officer to lead the development and execution of digital initiatives that drive efficiency, enhance customer experience, and expand access to financial services. The successful candidate will play a critical role in re-engineering business processes, leading innovation, and ensuring the bank’s transition to a fully digital, data-driven ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a comprehensive digital transformation roadmap aligned with FCMB MFB’s financial inclusion and business growth goals.
- Identify gaps in current operations and drive end-to-end digital solutions across lending, savings, customer onboarding, and field operations.
- Champion automation of internal workflows and integration of digital tools such as CRM systems, mobile banking, and cloud platforms.
- Collaborate with IT, Product, and Business Development teams to launch and scale digital products tailored to our core target markets (especially women and SMEs).
- Oversee data analytics initiatives that provide actionable business intelligence and improve decision-making.
- Lead change management and digital literacy campaigns across departments to ensure smooth adoption.
- Build strategic partnerships with fintechs and technology service providers to accelerate innovation.
- Monitor digital risks, ensure cybersecurity compliance, and align all initiatives with regulatory frameworks and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s directives.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Digital Innovation, Finance, or any other related field.
- A Master’s degree or professional certification will be an added advantage.
Professional Certifications (Preferred but not mandatory):
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- PRINCE2
- Certified Digital Transformation Officer (CDTO)
- Agile or Scrum Certification
- Lean Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt)
- ITIL Foundation
- COBIT or TOGAF
- CISE (Certified Information Systems Expert)
- Google or Microsoft Cloud Certifications
- Data Analytics / BI certifications (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years in digital transformation, technology strategy, or IT project management, preferably in banking, fintech, or microfinance.
- Strong experience leading cross-functional projects, especially in rural or community-focused financial institutions.
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of core banking systems, mobile technologies, cloud infrastructure, and data analytics.
- Proficiency in project management and business process re-engineering.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
