Chris Brown Pleads Not Guilty To Assault Charge In UK Court
U.S. singer Chris Brown has pleaded not guilty to charges related to an incident involving a music producer at a London nightclub two years ago.

Gatekeepers Newreports that Brown faces allegations of attempting to inflict grievous bodily harm on producer Abraham Diaw using a tequila bottle during what prosecutors described as an “unprovoked attack” in 2023.

The 36-year-old artist appeared at Southwark Crown Court in London, where a number of supporters were present in the public gallery. During the brief hearing, Brown confirmed his name and date of birth and firmly denied the charges, stating, “Not guilty, ma’am.”

His co-defendant, 38-year-old Omolulu Akinlolu, also entered a not guilty plea regarding the same charge.

Both defendants were granted bail until their next court appearance on July 11, where they may be required to address a potentially lesser charge of assault causing actual bodily harm.

In addition to the grievous bodily harm charge, Brown is also facing a charge related to possessing an offensive weapon—a bottle—but he was not asked to enter a plea on that matter during this session.

The trial is scheduled to commence on October 26, 2026.

Following the hearing, supporters shouted messages of encouragement, such as “We love you, Chris,” as Brown exited the dock.

Brown, a two-time Grammy Award winner known for popular tracks like “Loyal,” “Run It,” and “Under the Influence,” was granted bail in May after agreeing to pay a £5 million ($6.7 million) security fee to facilitate the launch of his “Breezy Bowl XX” tour.

He had been arrested at a hotel in Manchester last month upon returning to the UK for the first time since the incident occurred.
