5 Die – 15 Injured As Bomb Explodes In Kaduna

At least five people have been confirmed dead and 15 others injured following a bomb explosion on Saturday morning at a scrap collection company along the Eastern Bypass in Kano State.

Gatekeepers News reports that Ibrahim Bakosri, state police commissioner, who visited the scene, said the bomb was a military model.

He noted that preliminary information revealed that the bomb was transported in a truck originating from Yobe State.

The commissioner added that the injured people have been taken to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH).

Bokosri said the exact source and ownership of the explosive device remain unclear, adding that investigations by security agencies are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

He urged the public to stay calm and assured them that the situation is being handled with the utmost urgency by relevant security agencies.

Earlier this month, a similar blast at a bus stop in Borno State claimed the lives of at least nine people.

Also in May, the Anambra State Police Command reported the destruction of a local bomb-making facility in the state.
