Blaming Tinubu For Your Party Crisis Is Irresponsible – Shehu Sani To Opposition

Shehu Sani, the former senator for Kaduna Central, has stated that opposition parties should refrain from attributing their internal conflicts to President Bola Tinubu.

Gatekeepers News reports that in an interview with Channels TV, Sani described it as “illogical” for these parties to expect Tinubu to resolve issues within their own organizations.

He specifically pointed out the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), claiming that they exhibit a lack of accountability regarding their challenges.

“It is unfortunate that the opposition in the country is looking up to the president to solve their problems,” he said.

“How logical is it when you have a problem in your house, then you start blaming your neighbour or adversary for it when you should address it.

”If there is a problem in the PDP, it is for the PDP to solve; if there is a problem in the Labour Party and SDP, it is for the Labour Party and SDP to solve. If there is a problem in the NNPP, it is for the NNPP to solve.

“I don’t know whether they are also trying to ask the president to come to their party and solve their problems.”

The former lawmaker added that the ruling party cannot strengthen the opposition or help it become a threat.

He described the blame game by opposition leaders as “irresponsible” and “unserious”, especially when parties fail to discipline erring members.

Similarly, Tinubu, during his Democracy Day address, mocked the opposition, describing their parties as “sinking ships”.
