Two political groups seeking registration as political parties have submitted identical acronyms to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Gatekeepers News reports that both groups have chosen the acronym “ADA,” albeit with different full names.
The first group, All Democratic Alliance (ADA), is led by Chief Akin Ricketts and is reportedly backed by the anti-Tinubu coalition. It is listed as number 109 on INEC’s list of political associations seeking registration. The group’s national headquarters is located at Ground Floor, UAC Complex, Plot 273 Samuel Adesujo Ademulegun Street, CBD, Abuja.
The second group, Advanced Democratic Alliance (ADA), has Alhaji Ahmadu Suleiman as its Protem Chairman and Zipporah Pius Miracles as Secretary. It is listed as number 110 on INEC’s list and has its national headquarters at 1 Frandriance Close, Off Oda Crescent, Off Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja.
A total of 110 political associations have applied to INEC for registration as political parties ahead of the 2027 general elections. It remains to be seen how INEC will resolve the issue of the duplicate acronyms.
