Fashion icon Anna Wintour is leaving her post as editor-in-chief of US Vogue, a position she has held since 1988.
Gatekeepers News reports that Wintour, 75, announced the news to her staff during an editorial meeting, stating that the publication would seek a new head of editorial content.
Although she’s stepping down from her editor-in-chief role, Wintour will continue to hold senior positions at Condé Nast, including global chief content officer and Vogue’s global editorial director.
During her nearly four-decade tenure, Wintour transformed US Vogue into a global fashion powerhouse, redefining the publication’s role in fashion and culture, and making it the world’s most influential fashion publication.
She played a significant role in shaping the fashion industry, advising celebrities and spearheading events like the Met Gala.
