Gov Aliyu Reverts May Salary to Loan Payable In 3 Months

Govenor Ahmed Aliyu has approved the conversion of May 2025 salaries, which were paid before the last Eid-el-Adha celebration, into a loan to be paid in three installments.

Gatekeepers News reports that Abubakar Bawa, Press Secretary to the state Governor in statement on Friday, noted that the move is part of ongoing efforts to cushion the economic hardship facing workers.

Gov. Aliyu explained that the decision was made in light of the financial pressures typically associated with the festive season, during which the salary was paid.

He said, “I am aware that many of our workers are still facing financial challenges due to the expenses incurred during the Sallah festivities.”

“This measure is intended to support them by easing immediate financial strain, allowing for repayment in three convenient monthly deductions.”

The Governor expressed confidence that the move would go a long way in improving the lives of the civil servants and their families.

In a related development, Gov. Aliyu has directed the immediate payment of June salaries to all categories of workers, including those at the state, local government,  LGEA and pensioners  beginning from Monday 30th of June.

Reassuring workers of his administration’s commitment to overhauling the civil service for better service delivery, the Governor urged the civil servants to reciprocate government’s the myriad of gestures by showing greater dedication, discipline, and punctuality at work.

He also thanked tne people of the State for their continued support and reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to deliver more dividends of democracy.
