Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has been found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, but acquitted of s3x trafficking and racketeering charges.

Gatekeepers Newreports that the verdict came after a seven-week trial in Manhattan federal court, where prosecutors alleged that Combs used his business empire to force women to participate in drug-fueled s3xual performances.

Combs, 55, faces a maximum 10-year prison sentence on each of the two prostitution counts, although prosecutors suggested a maximum sentence of 5-1/4 years. His lawyers argued that two years would be the outer limit. A hearing is scheduled for 5 p.m. EDT on Combs’ request to be released on bail pending sentencing.

During the trial, jurors heard testimony about Combs’ alleged abuse of two women, including singer Casandra “Cassie” Ventura, and a woman known as “Jane.” Prosecutors claimed that Combs used “power, violence and fear” to get what he wanted, but the jury ultimately acquitted him of the most serious charges.

Combs’ defense team acknowledged that he engaged in domestic violence, but argued that the women consensually participated in the s3xual performances. After the verdict, Combs appeared emotional, praying and thanking his supporters. “I’m gonna be home soon,” he said, smiling.

The case has sparked widespread attention, with many noting that the verdict signals a complex and nuanced view of consent and power dynamics in relationships. Combs still faces dozens of civil lawsuits accusing him of abuse, including one filed by Ventura in November 2023.

In a statement after the verdict, the Manhattan U.S. Attorney’s office emphasized the importance of addressing s3x crimes, saying that “Americans want this scourge stopped and perpetrators brought to justice.”
