Aminu A. Wisdom, a former Nigerian Ambassador to the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), has extended his condolences to the family of late Ambassador Abdul Aziz Garuba, whom he described as a towering figure who dedicated his life to serving Nigeria with honour and integrity.
Gatekeepers News reports that in a condolence message shared on Monday, Wisdom said, “Ambassador Garuba was an exemplary ambassador, a true son of Auchi, and a respected elder who carried the responsibilities of nationhood with grace and wisdom.”
He praised Garuba’s decades of diplomatic service, which contributed to Nigeria’s global image and influence.
Wisdom, a founder, Strategic Facilitation International Group, described Garuba’s voice as one of reason, dignity, and national unity, values that should be upheld in his memory.
He wrote: ”
Dear Esteemed Family,
It is with deep sorrow and a profoundly heavy heart that I write to extend my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your beloved patriarch, husband, father, and distinguished Nigerian statesman — Ambassador Abdul Aziz Garuba.
Ambassador Garuba was a towering figure whose life was defined by service, honour, and an unshakeable commitment to the progress of our great nation. His decades of diplomatic service, marked by integrity and devotion, contributed immensely to Nigeria’s image and influence on the global stage. He was an exemplary ambassador, a true son of Auchi, and a respected elder who carried the responsibilities of nationhood with grace and wisdom.
I had the honour of knowing him not only as a father but also as a big brother whose counsel and encouragement left a lasting imprint on many of us. His voice was one of reason, dignity, and national unity — values we must all strive to uphold in his memory.
In this moment of deep loss, I pray that Almighty God, in His infinite mercy, comforts you and grants you the strength to bear this irreparable loss. May He bless Ambassador Garuba’s soul with eternal rest, and may his legacy of patriotism and leadership continue to inspire generations to come.
