Job Description:
Our client is a dynamic logistics and transportation company committed to providing fast, reliable, and efficient delivery solutions across Nigeria and beyond
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Process supplier invoices, payments, and staff reimbursements.
- Monitor customer payments and ensure timely invoicing and collections.
- Reconcile account discrepancies and ensure proper allocation of transactions.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and report on financial performance against projections.
- Provide support in analyzing cost structures and suggesting cost optimization strategies.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, including VAT, withholding tax, and corporate tax.
- Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors as required.
- Prepare and file statutory tax returns and handle remittances.
- Process payroll and ensure timely salary disbursement.
- Compute statutory deductions and prepare related remittances (e.g., PAYE, pension).
- Track and reconcile inventory and fixed assets.
- Monitor logistics fleet expenses and depreciation schedules.
- Maintain and enforce proper accounting controls and procedures.
- Review and update accounting policies in line with industry best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the logistics or transport industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or Tally).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
- Good understanding of tax laws and compliance in Nigeria.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Salary Range: ₦150,000 – ₦200,000/month
