Edo State Government has reiterated its earlier directive mandating all organisations and business entities operating within the state, with a minimum of five employees, to enroll their staff in Edo State Health Insurance Scheme in compliance with Section 21(1) of the Edo State Health Insurance Commission Law, 2019 (as amended).

Gatekeepers News reports that this reminder, issued by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., Secretary to the State Government, reinforces the administration’s commitment to achieving Universal Health Coverage and providing equitable access to affordable and quality healthcare for all residents of the state.

The government emphasised that all businesses, especially those in contractual dealings with the state, must comply with the law by ensuring their employees are registered under the State Health Insurance Scheme. Failure to comply will result in legal actions in accordance with the law.
