‘I Have Lost A Father Figure’ – Katsina Gov In Tears At Buhari’s Funeral

Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State was visibly emotional during the burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday.

Gatekeepers Newreports that the late president was laid to rest in the garden of his residence in Daura after funeral prayers were held at a helipad near his country home.

In a video that has been trending, Radda was seen weeping as Buhari’s body was interred. In a heartfelt tribute, the governor said, “I have lost a father figure whose footsteps I have endeavoured to follow.”

Radda praised Buhari’s leadership, saying, “From his early days as a military leader to his transformative presidency, President Buhari never forgot his roots. He remained connected to the soil of Katsina and the hearts of its people.”

The governor described Buhari’s passing as an “irreplaceable void in our collective consciousness” and called on Nigerians to celebrate his life and legacy. “As we mourn this irreparable loss, we must also celebrate a life well-lived in service to humanity,” Radda said.

“President Buhari’s legacy of putting people first will continue to inspire generations of leaders,” the governor added, paying tribute to the late president’s commitment to public service.
