Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Gatekeepers News reports that Adeleke made this known in a statement shared on his official X handle on Tuesday, following a strategic meeting with the PDP leadership caucus in Osogbo.
According to Adeleke, the Osun PDP has unanimously endorsed him for a second term in 2026 and also endorsed President Tinubu for re-election in 2027.
“Our party in Osun has also endorsed President Tinubu for re-election in 2027, recognising him as a proud son of our state,” Adeleke said.
The announcement comes after months of speculation about Adeleke’s political future, with rumors suggesting he might defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the president’s party. However, Adeleke has consistently denied such intentions, affirming his loyalty to the PDP.
“I remain a loyal member and the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party in Osun State,” Adeleke said in May, dismissing rumors of his possible defection.
He reiterated his commitment to delivering good governance and fulfilling the party’s five-point agenda for the people of Osun.
