Super Falcons Players Visit Injured Salgado at Hospital

Super Falcons of Nigeria have shown remarkable sportsmanship and compassion by visiting Gabriela Salgado, the South African forward, at the hospital following her serious injury during the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) semi-final match in Morocco.

Gatekeepers News reports that Salgado suffered a horrific injury during the game between Nigeria and South Africa on Tuesday, which led to her being stretchered off in the 88th minute.

The South African FA later confirmed that she sustained a fracture of the mid-shaft of her left leg and underwent successful surgery at the Mohamed VI University Hospital in Casablanca.

According to the federation, Salgado will be out of action for the rest of the year.

On Wednesday, a handful of Falcons players, led by team captain Rasheedat Ajibade, visited Salgado at the hospital and presented her with a signed Super Falcon jersey.

The gesture has been widely praised, showcasing the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie between the two teams.

Nigeria will face Morocco in the WAFCON final on Saturday, with the Super Falcons aiming to win their 10th title.
