European Union and the United States have reached a new trade agreement following intense discussions at President Donald Trump’s luxury golf resort in Scotland.
Gatekeepers News reports that under the deal, the U.S. will impose a standard 15% tariff on all goods imported from the EU.
Although the full details are still being reviewed, Trump revealed that the agreement includes significant European commitments including investments worth hundreds of billions of dollars and major energy purchases.
Trump described the agreement as the “largest ever made,” while European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen praised the deal, stating that it offers much-needed stability and predictability for both parties.
According to Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, the deal would enhance stability, although he admitted that trading costs would likely rise compared to previous terms.
