WAFCON: Tinubu Confers National Honours On Super Falcons – Gives Them $100k Each

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has awarded national honours to Super Falcons following their victory at Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Gatekeepers News reports that each of the 24 players will receive the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) title, along with a cash reward of $100,000 (in naira). Additionally, members of the technical crew will each receive $50,000.

All players and officials are also being gifted a three-bedroom apartment in Renewed Hope Estate located in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Recall that Super Falcons secured Nigeria’s 10th WAFCON title last Saturday in Morocco with goals from Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi, and Jennifer Echegini.

During a reception at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday, Tinubu commended the team for their determination, discipline, and fighting spirit.

In addition, the Nigeria Governors Forum has pledged N10 million to each player as a separate gesture of appreciation.

The Nigeria Governors Forum also pledged a separate reward of N10 million for each of the players.
