Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has suspended Felix Osemwengie Isere, his Special Adviser on Oil and Gas, over unauthorised fundraising for the proposed Oil and Gas Summit.
Gatekeepers News reports that the summit, scheduled for August 7, 2025, in Benin City, has also been suspended. According to a government statement signed by Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Isere was accused of using the state government’s name to solicit funds from prospective donors without authorisation. The governor has ordered Isere to refund the monies to the donors. “Prospective donors, are by this announcement, advised to desist from dealing with the suspended appointee,” the statement added.
