President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in Nnanna Uzor Kalu as the commissioner representing South-East geopolitical zone in National Assembly Service Commission (NASC).
Gatekeepers News reports that the swearing-in took place on Thursday at the Council Chambers of the State House, just before the start of Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
Kalu’s appointment had initially faced delays due to a petition submitted in March, which challenged his nomination. However, after a thorough review by the Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions, as well as the Committee on Establishment and Public Service, he was cleared of any wrongdoing.
Following this clearance, the Senate approved his appointment based on the committee’s recommendation, which was presented by Cyril Fasuyi, chairman of the committee on establishment and public service.
Earlier in May, President Tinubu had sworn in Saviour Enyiekere as chairman of NASC along with commissioners from the other five geopolitical zones.
