Edo Gov Nominates 4 Commissioner-Designates

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the nomination of four individuals as commissioner-designates.

Gatekeepers News reports that the announcement was made on Friday by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., who confirmed that the names have been submitted for consideration by the Edo State House of Assembly.

Among those nominated is Hon. (Barr.) Nosa T. Adams, a legal practitioner and political activist with qualifications in law and human resource management. With a career spanning leadership roles in both the public and private sectors, he is committed to championing the cause of a better society.

Among the leadership positions he has held are: Chairman of Egor Local Government Council; Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor; and General Manager, Edo State Rubber Estates.

He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and currently serves as the Principal Partner at Nosa Adams & Co.

Also nominated is Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, a politician, philanthropist, and agricultural scientist and business consultant. He is also an entrepreneur and community leader who holds degrees in Agriculture and Business Administration.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC-Nigeria) and served as the Executive Chairman of Etsako West Local Government Area. He has been recognized as an Eminent Peace Ambassador by the International Association of World Peace Advocates and is actively involved in the Rotary Club of Auchi Metro and several professional management institutes.

Hon. (Dr.) Felix Ehiguese Akhabue, a distinguished Nigerian chartered accountant, businessman, political leader, and community advocate, was also listed among the commissioner-designates. He is also a seasoned administrator and entrepreneur who combines business acumen with public service leadership. He holds degrees in Accounting and Business Administration.

He served as the Executive Chairman of Esan West Local Government Council and rose to become the National President of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria

(ALGON). He has also held leadership positions in international organisations, including Vice President of United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLGA) and Board Member of the Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF).

The final nominee is Engr. Prof. Omorodion Ignatius Ikponmwosa, a distinguished Nigerian academic, specializing in Industrial and Production Engineering. He is a seasoned educator and researcher who combines advanced engineering expertise with academic leadership in automation and control systems.

He holds a B.Eng. in Mechanical/ Production Engineering, an M.Eng. in Manufacturing Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Automation and Control from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, the University of Benin, and Ambrose Alli University, respectively.

He is a member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), and the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC).

The Governor’s nominations are expected to be screened and confirmed by the Edo State House of Assembly in the coming days.
