Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved an increase in the monthly allowance of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state from ₦20,000 to ₦30,000.

Gatekeepers News reports that the announcement was made on Friday during the opening ceremony of the 2025 Batch B Stream I orientation course at the NYSC camp in Damare.

Sharing the update via his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Fintiri said, “I announced an increase in corps members’ monthly allowance from ₦20,000 to ₦30,000. We’re also set to build a new NYSC camp, with professionals in relevant fields engaged in the project.”

The Governor further revealed that construction of a new NYSC camp is in the works, with qualified professionals already enlisted for the project.

This increment follows a similar action by Akwa Ibom State government, which recently raised its NYSC allowance to ₦20,000.

Governor Umo Eno explained the move was meant to complement the Federal Government’s ₦77,000 monthly stipend and help corps members meet basic living expenses.
