Gunmen Kill Pastor – Two Others In Plateau Attack

Gunmen have killed three people in Suwa and Ding’ak villages of Mushere Chiefdom, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Gatekeepers News reports that the incident occurred between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025.

The victims are Gideon Katings, pastor of COCIN in Suwa; Sunday Ringkang; and Meshach Bukata. Several others, including one Michael Kamshak, sustained injuries and are receiving treatment at Cottage Hospital, Bokkos.

The attack also forced hundreds of residents to flee their homes, adding to the growing number of internally displaced persons in the area.

Bokkos LGA has witnessed repeated assaults by armed groups in recent years. In July, at least 14 people were killed in an attack near Chirang village, while reports indicate that up to 100 people have lost their lives in the LGA within the past two years over 60 of them during a Christmas Eve massacre in 2023.
