‘An Intellectual Storehouse’— Akpabio Mourns Ex PDP Chairman – Audu Ogbeh

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has mourned the passing of Chief Audu Ogbeh, former minister of agriculture and rural development, describing it as a monumental loss to Nigeria.

Gatekeepers News reports that Ogbeh, who also served as a national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and minister of communications in the Second Republic, died at the age of 78 on August 9.

In a statement signed by his special adviser on media and publicity, Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio hailed Ogbeh as a statesman of integrity who devoted his life to public service.

He said, “ It is with great sadness that I received the news of the passing of Chief Audu Ogbeh, a distinguished elder statesman and a dedicated public servant.”

“Chief Ogbeh lived a life of service, integrity, and commitment to the development of our nation.”

“As a two-time minister under different administrations, the former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) contributions to agriculture, rural development, and nation-building will be remembered for years to come.”

“Chief Audu Ogbeh was an intellectual store house, whose legacy of service and dedication to Nigeria is a testament to his character and commitment to public service. We will surely miss him.”

On behalf of his family, constituents, and the 10th Senate, Akpabio extended condolences to Ogbeh’s family, friends, political associates, the people and government of Benue State, and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He prayed for God to grant the family the strength to bear the loss and for the deceased’s soul to rest in peace.
