Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger who was accused of assaulting airline officials, has stated that she was still experiencing pain from the incident after being released from Kirikiri Prison.
Gatekeepers News reports that Emmanson had a confrontation with Ibom Air officials on a Uyo to Lagos flight, which led to her being forcefully removed from the aircraft with her clothes torn. The incident sparked widespread outrage, with many Nigerians condemning the treatment meted out to her by airport officials.
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, had announced on August 13 that Ibom Air had withdrawn its complaint against Emmanson and lifted the lifetime flight ban imposed on her.
The charges against Emmanson were struck out by the magistrate court after the police withdrew the five-count charge filed against her.
In a statement shared on Instagram on Wednesday, Emmanson said: “Thank you so much for all the Prayers, Love, and support. I’ve been released from the Prison, but I’m still in pains due to how I was treated,” she said.
“I just need some rest and medical treatment before I give out my own version of the event.
“Thank you so much my Lovely Friends and Supporters. I really appreciate y’all from the bottom of my heart. God bless y’all.”
