Nigeria’s D’Tigers continued their winning streak in the 2025 men’s Afrobasket, dominating defending champions Tunisia 87-66 in their second group stage match.
Gatekeepers News reports that the game, played at the Pavilhao Multiusos de Luanda on Friday, saw Nigeria consistently outplay Tunisia throughout.
The Nigerians took an early lead, dominating the first quarter 29-16. They maintained their momentum, stretching their lead to 48-33 by halftime.
The third quarter saw Nigeria outscore Tunisia again, taking a commanding 68-47 lead into the final quarter.
Although Tunisia attempted a comeback in the fourth quarter, Nigeria’s lead was too significant, and they secured a 21-point victory. Josh Okogie led the team with a career-high 33 points.
This win marks D’Tigers’ second consecutive victory in the tournament, following their win against Madagascar in the opening match.
Nigeria will conclude their group stage fixtures against Cameroon on Sunday.
