Haaland Leads Man City To 4-0 Win Over Wolves

Manchester City began their Premier League season with a 4–0 win against Wolves on Saturday.

Gatekeepers News reports that Erling Haaland scored twice, while new signings Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki also scored one each.

City are aiming to win back the league title after finishing third last season and ending an eight-year run of winning trophies.

Pep Guardiola surprised many by starting James Trafford in goal. The young goalkeeper, back from Burnley, made his first senior appearance for City.

Regular goalkeeper Ederson was left out of the team as he is close to joining Galatasaray, with reports linking City to PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma as a possible replacement.

Wolves, who lost key forward Matheus Cunha to Manchester United, are among the teams tipped for relegation this season. They started well and even had the ball in the net through Marshall Munetsi, but the goal was ruled offside.

City then took control. Reijnders set up Rico Lewis, who crossed for Haaland to score the opener. Just minutes later, Reijnders added the second with a clean finish.

In the second half, Trafford helped start a smooth attacking move that ended with Haaland’s second goal. Haaland was later substituted for Cherki, who sealed the win with a fine strike from outside the box.
