Moses Itauma, a British-Nigerian rising star, knocked out veteran fighter Dillian Whyte in the opening round of their heavyweight clash.
Gatekeepers News reports that the 20-year-old prodigy dispatched the 37-year-old in less than two minutes during their bout in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday. Itauma wasted no time, using his speed and energy to exploit the 17-year age gap.
An early stiff jab sent Whyte crashing into the ropes. Spotting his opponent’s vulnerability, Itauma unleashed a barrage of punches that floored the seasoned boxer. Despite efforts to recover, Whyte could not continue, prompting the referee to stop the fight.
Born in Slovakia to a Nigerian father and native mother, Itauma moved with his family to the UK in 2008. He has since been hailed as the future of British boxing, boasting an unbeaten professional record of 13 victories, 11 of them by knockout.
Itauma currently holds the WBA International, WBO Intercontinental, and Commonwealth heavyweight titles.
