Arsenal Start Premier League Season With 1-0 Win Over Man United

Arsenal on Sunday, began their 2025–26 Premier League campaign with a 1–0 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Gatekeepers News reports that the only goal of the game came early. In the 13th minute, Arsenal earned a corner. Declan Rice delivered the ball into the box, where United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir misjudged it. Riccardo Calafiori seized the opportunity and headed home from close range.

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, said he felt relieved and proud that his team showed resilience, especially since they were not at their best. He emphasised the importance of capitalising on key moments and praised the team’s determination.

Despite the loss, Manchester United’s manager, Ruben Amorim, remained optimistic. He highlighted the team’s improved aggressiveness, strong passing, and overall performance, even though they failed to convert chances into goals.

In his post-match comments, Amorim also noted the potential shown by his new signings, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.

He said, “We did a lot things right. We were more aggressive and brave. In certain moments I think Bryan and Cunha helped a lot. We stuck to the plan even when the stadium was nervous, we continued to play the way we played and that will help us in the future.”

“(The fans) want that feeling again. We go to Old Trafford and we are not going to get bored. We need to win more than last season but they want to see something and feel something.”
