The Senator representing Edo North, Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, has congratulated Senator-elect for Edo Central, Joseph Ikpea, and Ovia Federal Constituency Member-elect, Omosede Igbinedion, on their landslide victories in the bye-elections held on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
Gatekeepers News reports that in a statement signed by his Chief of Staff, Hon. Victor Oshioke, Senator Oshiomhole described the outcome of the elections as a clear demonstration that the people of Edo State have embraced the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the party best positioned to guarantee quality representation and sustainable development.
According to Oshiomhole, the overwhelming victories recorded by the APC in both elections reflect a strong vote of confidence in the leadership and performance of Governor Monday Okpebholo, as well as the APC senators representing Edo North, Edo South and other federal legislators in the state.
He noted that the people of Edo Central and Ovia Federal Constituency have aligned themselves with the APC in order to also benefit from the dividends of purposeful and effective representation.
The former APC National Chairman expressed gratitude to the electorate in the two constituencies for their unwavering support, stressing that their decision to back the APC was a resounding endorsement of the party’s vision and record of performance.
While congratulating Ikpea and Igbinedion, Senator Oshiomhole urged them to see their victories as a call to duty. He reminded them that they owe their constituents the highest level of service and should use their mandates to justify the confidence reposed in them by the people.
He further emphasised the need for unity among APC federal lawmakers in Edo State, urging them to work closely with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Monday Okpebholo in consolidating economic stability and delivering meaningful development to the people.
