Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Christopher Musa, during an interview on the program Politics Today, emphasised the importance of recognising the progress made in addressing insecurity in Nigeria.

Gatekeepers News reports that he highlighted notable achievements by the Nigerian Armed Forces, including the arrest of the son of the Boko Haram founder and key commanders of the Ansaru group.

General Musa noted that while significant advancements have been made, it is unrealistic to expect a complete eradication of insecurity in a short period.

He said all countries face security challenges to varying degrees, reiterating the need for ongoing efforts in the fight against insecurity.

“I think we should be very grateful that things are really picking up. I don’t think there’s any country that has 100% peace.

“Sixteen years, we’ve been like this; it’s not something, within two years, that we will be able to stop. But I can tell you, we’ve made giant strides. We just mentioned the Ansaru commanders that were arrested. This is one of the most significant arrests that have been made; getting the two of them shows how detailed the planning was,” he said.
