Israeli Strike On Gaza Hospital Kills 15 – Including 4 Journalists

An airstrike by Israeli forces on a hospital in southern Gaza has left at least 15 people dead, among them four journalists working for international media organisations.

Gatekeepers News reports that Nasser Medical Complex confirmed that 14 fatalities were recorded initially on Monday morning, but BBC later reported the toll had risen to 15.

Among those killed were Mohammad Salama, an Al Jazeera cameraman; Hussam Al-Masri, a Reuters contractor; Mariam Abu Dagga, a journalist who had contributed to the Associated Press (AP) and other outlets; and Moath Abu Taha, a freelance reporter.

A Reuters live video feed operated by Masri from the hospital abruptly went off air as the strike occurred.

Another journalist, Hatem Khaled, a Reuters photographer, was injured in the attack. Gaza’s civil defence agency also confirmed that one of its crew members was among the casualties.

The incident has deepened global concern about the safety of journalists in Gaza, where press freedom groups say media workers have been operating under unprecedented dangers since the conflict began.
