Former Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Solomon Arase is dead.

Gatekeepers News reports that Arase died in a private Hospital in Abuja.

Arase, Nigeria’s 18th Inspector-General of Police, was appointed in April 2015 by then-President Goodluck Jonathan.

Following his retirement in 2016, he continued to serve the country in various roles, most notably as Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), a position he assumed in January 2023 under President Muhammadu Buhari.

He was later removed from the role in June 2024 by President Bola Tinubu.

This is a developing story.
