Decomposed Body Discovered In Vehicle Outside National Assembly Gate

Police authorities in Abuja have confirmed the discovery of a decomposed body inside a car parked near the annex gate of the national assembly complex.

Gatekeepers News reports that according to reports, the man, believed to be a construction worker within the premises, was found in a red Peugeot 406 with registration number BWR-577 BF at around 9am on Sunday.

The body was initially taken to the national assembly clinic for medical checks before being transferred to Asokoro General Hospital. However, the hospital declined acceptance, citing advanced decomposition.

Josephine Adeh, spokesperson of FCT police command provided further details in a statement issued on Monday.

She said, “The Divisional Police Officer (DPO), National Assembly division, immediately responded to the call and, upon arrival, discovered the deceased inside a red Peugeot 406 motor vehicle with registration number BWR-577 BF.”

“The body was promptly evacuated to Asokoro General Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed that it was already in an advanced state of decomposition.”

Adeh added that Ajao Olawale, the FCT commissioner of police, has directed a discreet investigation into the case. She also noted that efforts are underway to confirm the man’s identity.
