The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 70-year-old watchman, Lawan Sani, for allegedly molesting three teenage girls multiple times in Unguwar Sarakuna, Bauchi.
Gatekeepers News reports that police spokesperson, Ahmed Wakil, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Monday, noting that Sani was caught while attempting to rape a 16-year-old girl on September 1.
“During interrogation, he confessed to having previously influenced the minor with N500 into the same residence. Investigation further indicated that the suspect had sexually molested two additional teenagers, names withheld, through the same techniques,” Wakil stated.
According to police, the three victims confirmed the allegations during interviews, revealing that the suspect assaulted them more than 15 times on different occasions and threatened them not to tell anyone. Both the victims and the suspect have been subjected to medical examinations to determine their health status.
Wakil added that the case is under discreet investigation, stressing that the Command is committed to protecting vulnerable members of society.
