Hilda Baci Completes World’s Largest Pot Of Jollof Rice

Guinness World Record (GRW) holder and restaurateur, Hilda Effiong Bassey popularly known as Hilda Baci has completed her attempt to cook the world’s largest pot of jollof rice.

Gatekeepers News reports that the event took place at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. It began with an opening prayer led by Pastor Bolaji Idowu, pastor of Harvesters International Christian Center in Lagos.

The celebrity who cooked 250 bags of basmati rice revealed on Thursday, that over 20,000 people registered to attend the event.

It was attended by high-profile people like Mrs Bamidele Abiodun (Ogun State First Lady), Funke Akindele, Kaffy, Enioluwa, Papaya, Folagade Banks, Spyro, Veekee James, Jidex, Porkiyor, Sisi Yemmie, Alex Unusual, and Tomike amongst others.

The festival also featured cultural displays, music performances, food exhibitions, and interactive activities showcasing jollof rice as a unifying cultural symbol.

As the world’s Largest pot of jollof attempt which was sponsored by Gino has ended, Hilda awaits official confirmation from Guinness World Records, after which she becomes a two-time record holder.

Recall that she was recognised in June 2023 as the longest cooking marathon holder after surpassing Indian chef Lata Tondon’s 87 hours and 45 minutes record.
