Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have reportedly eliminated eight Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) insurgents during a clash in Borno state.
Gatekeepers News reports that the clash occurred on Monday near Garin Giwa along the Baga–Cross Kauwa supply route, where the terrorists attempted to disrupt military activities.
Those killed included two Munzirs and one Qaid identified as Modu Dogo Munzir of Dogon Chukun, another unnamed Munzir, and Abu Aisha Qaid of Tumbun Mota. Fourteen motorcycles were also recovered, while several fighters fled with gunshot wounds.
A month ago, more than 35 ISWAP members were killed during a coordinated operation around Kumshe, a border community in Borno.
