Supporters Disperse After Hours Of Waiting For Fubara At Government House

Residents of Rivers State who gathered at the Government House on Thursday in anticipation of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s return to office left disappointed after waiting for hours without his appearance.

Gatekeepers News reports that thousands of supporters and well-wishers had assembled early in the day, expecting the Governor to address them or make a public appearance following the suspension of emergency rule in the state.

However, by 5:00 p.m., the crowd dispersed as Fubara was yet to be sighted. No official explanation has been given for his absence.

Governor Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu, are expected to resume leadership duties after six months of emergency administration.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu lifted the measure on Wednesday, citing a robust readiness, and potent enthusiasm on the part of all the stakeholders in Rivers State for an immediate return to democratic governance.
