Davido Joins Grammy Recording Academy As Voting Member For 2026 Awards

Nigerian singer, David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido has become a voting member of Recording Academy, the body that organises the Grammy Awards.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Grammys made the announcement through a video posted on Instagram while unveiling new members chosen for their commitment to music.

It added the caption, “Creating a song or an album takes heart, time, and dedication. That’s why Recording Academy members including @Davido… are sharing why your participation matters.”

Reacting, Davido described the development as a game-changer. He said, “Understanding the importance of how our voices are heard and participating in the Grammy Award process is a game-changer.”

“I have learned that voting empowers you to have a say in what is considered and voted on each award season. I am honoured to be part of the Recording Academy community, and I look forward to voting.”

As a voting member, Davido will now take part in both the nomination and final voting stages of the Grammys.

The Academy also confirmed that nominees for the 2026 edition will be announced on November 7, while the ceremony will be held on February 1, 2026.
